We cut through a short canal to the Tennessee River, in reality Kentucky Lake at this point and headed upstream, overnighting in Paris Landing and Wolf Island, locking through the Pickwick Dam, and staying at the Grand Harbor Marina, the entrance to the Tenn-Tom Waterway.

Barging in style

Two barges of motel rooms creates an interesting river cruise.

Airing out the wingpits

Waterfowl became more apparent on the lake.

Guiding light

Though water was all around, the channel reminded the safest bet.

Unique Boat

Seen in Paris Landing Marina

Lakeshore cliffs

The lake offered an endless variety of landscapes.

Marina Past

This marina sunk, negating it's value.

Low rent - not!

The upper end of the lake became a river. Some of the homes were great.

Nice digs!

Another waterfront home.

Lite bluff

The lighthouse home dominated this bluff.

Nice mermaid...

but not enough water for AA to enter.

Our second deer

Like the first, in IL, this Tenn deer was in the river.

Savannah

Ky that is... palms mark a climate change.

Red banks along the river

The variety was mind boggling as we traveled the Tennessee River.

Stilted growth

The stilts under the cottages and homes are a reminder that this river floods.
