One of dozens

Powerplants dotted the waterway, one was named Barry.

Grim reminder

This is all that's left of the bridge that rolled the towboat a few years ago.

Masterpiece

This stunning bank was unique at one location on the Tenn-Tom.

Bobby's Fish Camp

Unfortunately open only Thurs - Saturday.

Streets

Bobby's quaint roadsign

AA awaits

No fuel or food available at Bobby's, AA is ready to move on.

Last lock

Coffeyville lock, just a hundred miles to Mobile.

Changing shoreline

The Tenn-Tom is now river-like, the last of man's structuring no longer apparent.

New plants

Reeds appeared along the shore as we moved south.

Is this Barry?

Can't remember, don't think so, just another of many power plants.

Quick, grab the cell phone

Twin bridges means a highway and maybe a cell signal - yup, this one worked.

Just for fishing

Fishing cottages occassionally marked the miles.

Nearing the delta

Cypress trees and swamps marked the last few miles.

Waterfront home

Accessible only by water, a home in the delta.

Swamp

The delta riverfront was swampy - many boats saw Gators in this section.

Waterfront - cheap

Another future building site - will that be cash or check?

Mobile ahead

The moored barges and bridge announce Mobile.

Big Rig!

An oil rig being serviced in a Mobile drydock. Huge!

Traffic ahead

You name it, if it floats it's in this harbor.

Then there's the 3 tows

Ruth likened them to momma, pappa and baby tow.

A 4 crane salute

Mobile really rolls out the carpet!

Mobile docks

This is a heavily used seaport.

Inbound

Cargo being offloaded at a warehouse dock.

High and dry

A cruise ship in a floating drydock for service.

Approaching sailing vessel...

this is Navy 49, one whistle captain!

Too close

Can't honor your security zone, not enough river!

Okay boys...

dress her up, we're coming into port.

Down bay

We're out of the harbor and moving down bay to Turner Marine.

Attracting a crowd

A shrimp trawler has quite a following.

95' Old Friend

We caught up with El Presidente, sister ship to the Sesquahoya (old presidential yacht) at Turner's.
