6/2/05- We entered the New York Barge Canal System, heading west in the Erie Canal.

We met a number of boats heading toward the Hudson.

Must have bought the bridges then made them fit.

There was a variety of flowering trees along the banks.

The Urger is a beautiful example of the care given these vessels.

Looks like original equipment. Gravity operated drydock.

New London Lock

Actually New London had two locks.

Approaching Sylvan

Both sides of the Sylvan channel accomodate transients no charge.
